HE30 Wind/Differential Pressure Sensor

The HE30 wind and micro-differential pressure sensor is engineered for ultra-low-range pressure measurement from 100 Pa to 100 kPa. Utilizing a high-stability, oil-free silicon piezoresistive sensing element with stress-isolation packaging, it converts wind pressure or differential pressure into standard analog outputs (4–20 mA, 0–5 V, 0.5–4.5 V) with excellent long-term stability — ideal for HVAC, cleanroom, and gas network monitoring applications.

HE30 Wind Differential Pressure Sensor

Overview

The HE30 wind and micro-differential pressure sensor is purpose-built for measuring extremely low gauge or differential pressures — from as low as ±100 Pa up to 100 kPa. Unlike conventional oil-filled sensors that struggle at very low ranges, the HE30 employs a non-oil-filled, high-stability silicon piezoresistive element that maintains reliable performance even at sub-kilopascal levels.

Packaged in a rugged all-stainless-steel (304) enclosure with stress-isolation technology, the HE30 offers a dual-purpose design: a single port for gauge/wind pressure measurement, or dual ports for differential pressure applications. The sensor delivers ±0.5% FS accuracy (±1% FS for ranges ≤250 Pa) with a minimum resolution of 0.5 Pa and response time of ≤4 ms, making it one of the most responsive low-range pressure sensors available for industrial HVAC and cleanroom applications.

Standard analog outputs (4–20 mA, 0–5 V, 0.5–4.5 V) and multiple process connections (G1/4, M20×1.5, Φ8 barb fitting) ensure straightforward integration into building automation, environmental control, and gas distribution monitoring systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

In gauge (wind) mode (code G), the HE30 measures pressure relative to the atmosphere through a single port — ideal for duct static pressure or room pressurization. In differential mode (code D), the sensor connects to both a positive and negative pressure port using the included brass barb fitting, measuring the pressure difference between two points — useful for filter monitoring or airflow measurement across orifice plates.

No. The HE30 uses a non-oil-filled piezoresistive sensing element designed specifically for dry, clean gases compatible with 304 stainless steel. Contact with liquids would damage the sensing element. For liquid differential pressure measurement, consider the HM31 differential pressure transmitter which uses an oil-filled, isolated diaphragm design.

For pressure ranges of 250 Pa and below, the HE30 offers ±1% FS typical accuracy (±2% FS maximum). Above 250 Pa, accuracy improves to ±0.5% FS typical (±1% FS maximum). This is because extremely low-range pressure sensing inherently faces greater challenges from temperature effects and zero-point drift, though the HE30’s oil-free element still outperforms many competing designs in this range.

The HE30 differential variant (code D) includes a brass barb fitting on the sensor body for the negative (low) pressure connection. Connect silicone or PVC tubing (Φ6 inner diameter recommended) from the negative pressure point to this barb. The positive (high) pressure enters through the main process connection (G1/4, M20×1.5, or Φ8 barb). Ensure tubing runs are kept short and free of kinks or moisture traps for accurate readings.

For best accuracy at very low ranges (≤500 Pa), mount the HE30 vertically with the pressure port facing downward to minimize the effect of the sensor’s internal air column weight on readings. At higher ranges (>1 kPa), mounting orientation has negligible effect. After installation, perform a zero calibration with no applied pressure to eliminate any orientation-related offset.
