HPTM SERIES · DUAL OUTPUT
HPTM189 Integrated Temperature & Pressure Transmitter
Independent measurement of process pressure and temperature in a single transmitter. Pressure accuracy ±0.5% FS (±0.2% FS option), temperature accuracy ±0.5°C from -40 to 200°C. Pressure ranges to 40 MPa gauge or 10 MPa absolute. Front-mounted PT100/PT1000 element gives smaller ΔT vs. traditional pocket-mounted thermometers.

Product Overview
The HPTM189 combines a high-stability piezoresistive silicon pressure sensor with a precision PT100 or PT1000 RTD element in a single compact transmitter housing. Both signals are conditioned independently and output through standard industrial protocols, so a single instrument and one cable run can deliver pressure and temperature data to the same DCS or PLC channel.
The temperature element sits at the front of the housing, in direct proximity to the process media. Compared with traditional pocket-mounted thermometers, the front-mount geometry shortens the heat path, reduces the introduced ΔT, and gives faster step response on changing media. A breathable design on the small-pressure-range models keeps the reference port dry while letting ambient pressure equalise — the result is more stable low-range readings without separate venting.
The HPTM189 is suited to industrial process control applications where one measurement point must report both pressure and temperature accurately — refrigeration loops, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, lab and pilot rigs, and chemical process skids where panel space or cable counts are constrained.

Key Features
Parallel pressure & temperature
Two independent sensing elements, two independent signal-conditioning paths. One process tap and one cable run delivers both measurements without cross-talk between channels.
Class 0.2 pressure option
Standard ±0.5% FS pressure accuracy covers most industrial loops. Specify the improved ±0.2% FS class when the loop is on a regulatory or batch-quality boundary.
Front-mounted RTD element
PT100 or PT1000 sits at the housing tip in direct contact with media. Heat path is shorter and ΔT smaller than pocket-mounted thermometers; step response is correspondingly faster.
Breathable low-range design
Small-range gauge models include a breathing element that equalises ambient pressure on the reference port. Result: stable readings on 0–50 kPa to 0–700 kPa ranges without external venting.
Multiple electrical interfaces
Hirschmann DIN43650, direct cable outlet (IP67), or M12×1 4P / 5P with optional pre-attached cable. Pick the connector that matches the existing panel hardware.
Vibration- and shock-resistant
Mechanical envelope rated to 20 g sinusoidal across 20–5000 Hz and 50 g shock at 11 ms. Suitable for compressor skids, hydraulic stations, and mobile equipment.
Applications
Refrigeration & HVAC
Refrigerant pressure plus suction-line temperature on a single instrument; superheat calculation simplifies, and the loop count drops by half on chiller and rooftop equipment.
Hydraulic stations
Pressure trend and oil temperature share one tap. Oil-warming startup logic and over-temperature trip both pull from the same device.
Pneumatic & compressed air
Discharge pressure plus aftercooler temperature on a compressor skid. Modbus output simplifies wiring on packaged equipment.
Process pilot rigs & R&D
Lab- and pilot-scale skids where panel space is tight and instrument count drives cost. Pressure ±0.2% FS option supports calibration and acceptance testing.
Boiler & steam systems
Steam pressure and superheat temperature in one instrument. Up to 200°C standard, 350°C custom for HP steam and direct-fired heaters.
Battery-powered remote stations
Modbus-RTU low-power mode runs on 3.1–8 VDC battery, suitable for solar-powered well sites and remote pump stations.
Wiring & Electrical Interface
The HPTM189 supports four electrical interface families, each with a published pinout. Match the connector to the existing panel hardware first; signal-output choice (4-20 mA, 0-5 V, 0-10 V, or Modbus) is independent.
| Output type | Hirschmann | Direct cable | M12×1-5P |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pressure 4-20 mA + Temperature PT100/PT1000 (3-wire) | +V=1, 0V/+OUT=2, A=3 (B routed via cable for RTD) | Red=+V, Black=0V, Blue=A, Yellow=B, Green=B | 1=+V, 3=0V, 2=A, 4=B, 5=B |
| Dual 4-20 mA (Pressure 2-wire + Temperature 2-wire) | +V=1, 0V/+OUT=2, +V_T=3 | Red=+V_P, Black=0V_P, Yellow=+V_T, Green=0V_T | 1=+V_P, 3=0V_P, 2=+V_T, 4=0V_T |
| Dual 0-5 V or 0-10 V (3-wire) | +V=1, GND=2, +OUT_P=3 (T routed separately) | Red=+V, Black=GND, Yellow=+OUT_P, Green=+OUT_T | 1=+V, 3=GND, 2=+OUT_P, 4=+OUT_T |
| 4-wire Modbus-RTU / RS485 | +V=1, -V=2, A=3, B (cable) | Red=+V, Black=-V, Yellow=A, Green=B | 1=+V, 3=-V, 2=A, 4=B |
RS485 with 24 V supply adds approximately 25 mm to the housing height. M12×1 wiring shifts to brown / blue / white / black / grey when supplied with pre-attached cable.
