Overview
The HE60 explosion-proof pressure sensor is engineered for safe and reliable pressure measurement in hazardous environments where flammable gases, vapors, dusts, or mining atmospheres are present. Certified to ATEX standards, it offers dual protection options: intrinsic safety (Ex ia IIC T6 Ga) for Zone 0/1/2 and flameproof enclosure (Ex d IIC T6 Gb) — both selectable individually or combined on a single unit.
Unlike traditional explosion-proof transmitters that are bulky and difficult to install, the HE60 features an ultra-compact form factor. For ranges of 6 bar and above, it employs sputtered thin-film sensing technology on a fully welded stainless steel construction that completely isolates the pressure chamber from the electronics compartment — significantly enhancing both safety and service life. Ranges below 6 bar use welded stainless steel diaphragm isolation technology for equally robust protection.
With a measurement range spanning 35 kPa to 150 MPa, ±0.5% FS accuracy, and standard 4–20 mA or voltage outputs, the HE60 integrates seamlessly into existing SCADA, DCS, and PLC systems in petrochemical plants, oil refineries, mining operations, and marine applications.

Key Features
Dual ATEX Explosion Protection
Choose intrinsic safety (Ex ia IIC T6 Ga) for Zone 0/1/2 gas and Zone 20/21/22 dust environments, or flameproof enclosure (Ex d IIC T6 Gb), or combine both for maximum flexibility across different hazardous areas within the same facility.
Sputtered Thin-Film Technology
For ranges ≥6 bar, the sensing element is molecularly bonded to the stainless steel diaphragm via sputtering — eliminating oil fill and O-ring seals. This delivers superior overload resistance (300% FS) and burst pressure up to 1800 bar for extreme safety margins.
Ultra-Compact Form Factor
Unlike conventional explosion-proof transmitters that are oversized and difficult to install, the HE60 maintains a small footprint comparable to standard industrial sensors — making it easy to retrofit into existing installations with limited space.
Fully Welded SS Construction
The pressure chamber is completely isolated from the electronics compartment through all-welded stainless steel construction — preventing process media from reaching electrical components even under seal failure, greatly enhancing safety and extending service life.
Built-in Circuit Protection
Includes reverse polarity protection and short-circuit protection as standard. The intrinsic safety circuit features a Zener barrier with instantaneous fuse blowout for overcurrent events, ensuring fail-safe operation in hazardous atmospheres.
Wide Range Coverage
Spans from 35 kPa to 150 MPa across a single product family, covering everything from low-pressure gas monitoring to ultra-high-pressure hydraulic systems — reducing the number of different sensor models needed for a complete hazardous-area installation.
Applications
Oil & Gas Processing
Monitor wellhead pressure, pipeline operating pressure, and separator vessel levels in upstream and midstream oil & gas operations. ATEX Zone 0 certification allows direct installation in the most explosive-risk areas.
Petrochemical & Refining
Reliable pressure measurement in distillation columns, reactor vessels, and compressor stations where flammable hydrocarbon vapors require certified explosion protection for every instrument in the loop.
Mining & Underground Operations
Monitor hydraulic support pressures, gas drainage systems, and compressed air networks in coal and metal mines. M1/M2 mining classification ensures compliance with underground equipment regulations.
Marine & Shipboard Systems
Pressure monitoring in engine rooms, fuel systems, and cargo tank areas on ships and offshore platforms where explosion-proof certification is mandatory for all electrical equipment in classified zones.
Natural Gas & Shale Gas
Monitor distribution pipeline pressures, compressor station outlets, and storage facility levels in natural gas and shale gas infrastructure where methane atmospheres demand certified Ex-rated instrumentation.
Dust Explosion Environments
Certified for Zone 20/21/22 dust atmospheres found in grain handling, pharmaceutical powder processing, metal dust environments, and coal processing plants where combustible dust creates explosion hazards.
