Overview
The HE28 sapphire pressure sensor leverages the unique properties of single-crystal sapphire bonded to a titanium/silicon alloy diaphragm. This sensing principle delivers outstanding measurement stability across extreme temperature ranges from -65°C to +150°C, making it one of the most versatile pressure sensors for demanding industrial environments where conventional silicon-based sensors cannot operate reliably.
With pressure coverage spanning from 100 kPa to 160 MPa and 4× overload protection (up to 200 MPa), the HE28 is built for high-pressure applications including oil and gas exploration, hydraulic systems, water-jet cutting equipment, and deep-well monitoring. The all-welded stainless steel construction with no oil-fill ensures safety in critical applications while providing excellent corrosion resistance.
Available in both gauge and absolute pressure configurations, the HE28 achieves a typical accuracy of ±0.4% FS with exceptional long-term stability of ±0.15% FS/year. The sensor’s compact, rugged design withstands 1000g shock and ±20g vibration per IEC standards, certified CE for European compliance.

Key Features
Sapphire Sensing Technology
Single-crystal sapphire bonded to titanium/silicon diaphragm provides superior temperature stability and chemical resistance, maintaining accuracy across -65°C to +150°C media temperatures.
Ultra-High Pressure Range
Covers 100 kPa to 160 MPa with 4× overload protection up to 200 MPa and 6× burst pressure rating, suitable for the most demanding high-pressure industrial applications.
Extreme Shock & Vibration Resistance
Withstands 1000g/1 ms shock per IEC 60068-2-27 and ±20g vibration per IEC 60068-2-6, ensuring reliable operation in the harshest mechanical environments.
All-Welded, Oil-Free Construction
Fully welded stainless steel body with no oil-fill media ensures safe operation and eliminates risk of diaphragm rupture contaminating process media in critical applications.
Extended Temperature Operation
Media temperature range of -65°C to +150°C with minimal temperature drift (±0.02% FS/°C typical), far exceeding standard piezoresistive sensors limited to -40°C to +125°C.
Ultra-Long Service Life
Sapphire’s inherent hardness and the titanium diaphragm’s fatigue resistance deliver over 100 million pressure cycles (10–90% FS) without degradation.
Applications
Oil & Gas Exploration
Downhole and wellhead pressure monitoring in deep wells, shale gas extraction, and oilfield operations where extreme pressures up to 160 MPa and corrosive media demand sapphire-level durability.
Hydraulic & Water-Jet Systems
High-pressure hydraulic circuits and water-jet cutting equipment requiring reliable measurement up to 1600 bar with resistance to pressure spikes and mechanical vibration.
Marine & Shipbuilding
Engine room, ballast, and propulsion system pressure monitoring aboard vessels where saltwater corrosion, vibration, and wide temperature swings demand sapphire sensor robustness.
Petrochemical & Chemical Processing
Reactor vessels, pipeline pressure monitoring, and chemical process control with aggressive or high-temperature media where the oil-free, all-welded design eliminates contamination risk.
Heavy Machinery & Construction
Pressure sensing in excavators, cranes, and heavy equipment hydraulic systems subject to extreme mechanical shock (1000g) and continuous vibration during operation.
Cryogenic & Low-Temperature
LNG storage, cryogenic processing, and cold-climate industrial installations where media temperatures reach -65°C, beyond the capability of standard pressure sensors.
